Obligationer udstedt med sikkerhed i en stor pulje af fordringer sikret ved pant i fast ejendom (mortgage bonds). Obligationerne er således asset-backed securities. På basis af renter og afdrag fra puljen af mortgage bonds udstedes forskellige trancher af obligationer (f.eks. PAC, TAC, IO og PO). På denne måde omstruktureres betalingsrækken, således at den i højere grad tilgodeser forskellige investorers individuelle ønsker. Typisk vil de benyttede mortgage bonds være callable bonds, således at de enkelte obligationstrancher kan struktureres med større eller mindre konverteringsrisiko.
